Overview Lead the finance function in a hands-on standalone role where your expertise will directly support business performance, compliance, and decision-making. We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join a growing organisation on a 5–6 month parental leave contract. This is a broad and varied position offering responsibility across the full finance function, combining transactional accounting, financial reporting, compliance, payroll, cash flow management, and commercial analysis. Working closely with senior leadership, you will provide accurate financial insights and ensure the organisation maintains strong financial controls while supporting ongoing operational success. Key Responsibilities Manage all day-to-day accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance. Process supplier payments, employee expenses, and customer invoicing. Manage collections and debtor reporting. Prepare monthly management reports and financial statements. Deliver sales, margin, and commercial performance reporting. Prepare cash flow forecasts and support working capital management. Monitor inventory reporting and reconciliations. Manage BAS, PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation, and other statutory obligations. Coordinate external audit, taxation, and compliance activities. Prepare annual budgets and forecasts. Develop financial models and provide commercial analysis to support business decisions. Maintain and improve financial controls, policies, and processes. Support business improvement initiatives through ad hoc reporting and analysis. About You You will be a capable finance professional who enjoys taking ownership of the complete finance function and can confidently operate in a standalone environment. To be successful, you will bring: Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline. CPA or CA qualifications (preferred). Minimum five years\' experience in finance, accounting, or financial management. Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end accounting functions. Strong payroll, compliance, and statutory reporting experience. Experience preparing management accounts and financial reports. Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills. Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, GST, BAS, payroll tax, and superannuation requirements. Well-developed analytical and commercial acumen.
