Salary Package up to $528,432 (commensurate with experience) The Hospital Rockhampton Hospital is the main referral centre for Central Queensland, providing over 1,200 deliveries annually and offering: A level 4 Special Care Nursery (≥32 weeks) Twelve to fourteen scheduled operating theatre lists per fortnight High‑risk maternity and multidisciplinary clinics Outreach and telehealth services to rural communities Gladstone Hospital complements this service, with around 600 deliveries per year and a strong multidisciplinary maternity care model. The Role You will be part of a dedicated team expanding Obstetrics and Gynaecology services in regional Queensland, contributing to high‑quality patient care, mentoring doctors in training, and shaping service delivery across multiple sites. Deliver high‑quality clinical care in Obstetrics and Gynaecology across Rockhampton, Gladstone, Emerald, and outreach sites such as Woorabinda and Biloela. Participate in antenatal, gynaecology, and surgical services, including laparoscopic and major gynaecological procedures. Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives. Participate in after‑hours on‑call rosters and multidisciplinary case discussions. Requirements Demonstrated clinical leadership, commitment to education, and experience in both obstetrics and gynaecological surgery An interest in contributing to service delivery across regional and rural Queensland Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABOG certified) or New Zealand. Expedited Registration Pathway The Medical Board of Australia has introduced an expedited pathway to specialist registration in Obstetrics & Gynaecology – no college assessment required for doctors holding either: MRCOG (2007 onward) with a UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or MRCPI (2010 onward) with a Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of Specialist Training (CSCST) from Ireland.
