An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Release Manager to join a leading government organisation committed to driving digital transformation and technological excellence. As part of the Digital, Technology and Information team, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimising the release lifecycle for critical systems and applications. You will ensure that all releases are planned, coordinated, and delivered seamlessly across multiple environments, supporting business operations and strategic objectives. Key responsibilities Plan and manage all aspects of the release lifecycle, including scheduling, coordination, and communication. Collaborate with development, QA, infrastructure, project, and business teams to ensure successful release execution. Maintain and improve release processes, tools, and documentation. Identify, communicate, and mitigate release‑related risks. Coordinate release readiness reviews, go/no‑go decisions, and post‑release retrospectives. Manage version control and release documentation, including release notes and deployment guides. Monitor and report on release metrics and KPIs. Support and enhance CI/CD practices across teams. Ensure compliance with governance and change management frameworks. Highly desirable criteria Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills. Experience in change management or organisational transformation initiatives. Proven ability to understand current technical landscapes and plan for future states. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non‑technical audiences. Exposure to both ICT and OT environments. Experience within government or highly regulated industries. Familiarity with enterprise‑scale technology ecosystems and integrations. Skills and experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT Release Management, Software Development, or DevOps. Proven experience managing releases across complex ICT environments. Strong understanding of ITIL processes (particularly Release, Change, and Configuration Management). Excellent grasp of SDLC and Agile methodologies. Hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
