About the role We have an opportunity for a Senior System Administrator – Audio‑Video Conferencing Services to be part of our Network and Security Platform Services team, Technology & Communication Services Command. The Senior System Administrator – Audio‑Video Conferencing Services is responsible for the planning, designing, supporting and maintaining the organisation's ICT systems, and to ensure secure access and availability in accordance with the needs of the business. The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for delivering NSW Police audio‑video conferencing services, including service strategy, planning, and implementation. The role ensures a robust support and maintenance model and drives continual service improvement to support business outcomes while maintaining enterprise infrastructure standards. Key Accountabilities Take ownership of IT solutions for video‑conferencing services, including both corporate and JusticeLink capabilities, ensuring compliance with NSW Police information technology policies, procedures, and standards by maintaining awareness of requirements and taking corrective action when necessary. Proactively lead service and solution design practices and deliver strategic recommendations on network and audio‑visual infrastructure, taking tactical steps to ensure all solutions are fit for purpose and fit for use. Identify issues and recommend resolution approach to senior management on infrastructure implementation and support service to NSW Police Force. Oversight all stages of vendor and contract manager relating to audiovideo conferencing and relevant network infrastructure. Provide guidance to the implementation and senior executive team on new technologies to ensure NSWPF infrastructure has been security assessed and are in line with enterprise standards. Key Challenges Timely resolution of issues and problems whilst identifying ways to provide more responsive solutions to address the needs of NSWPF audio‑video conferencing and relevant network infrastructure. Provide ethical advice and vendor management whilst implementing network and audio‑visual infrastructure that fits within NSWPF enterprise standards and budget expenditure. Keep informed about the changing and emerging technologies and ensure NSWPF video conferencing and network infrastructure are at a high enterprise standard. Facilitate knowledge sharing and coach technical teams to improve end‑user support, ensure the timely resolution of problems, and support the implementation of solutions including on‑site equipment installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting, commissioning, and documentation, to minimise downtime and loss of productivity. To be successful in this role, it is critical to possess: Industry certifications in WAN, LAN, and routing, as well as voice and video delivery technologies, including CCNA (mandatory) along with CCNP/CCIE or equivalent (desirable). Extensive experience in managing voice delivery and AV collaboration capabilities within large enterprise environments, including support for both corporate and specialised audio‑visual conference rooms. Practical, hands‑on experience in administering Cisco CUCM, Webex and Crestron technologies. Availability to provide afterhours on‑call support and willingness to be rostered to support major events when required, in accordance with staffing orders.
