Genus Industrial Services is a leading construction and maintenance provider servicing the Mining, Oil & Gas, Infrastructure, and Power Generation sectors. We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to develop accurate, competitive, and commercially sound estimates for medium to large EPC projects. This role works closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Fabrication teams to develop fully costed proposals and present the basis of estimate to senior management. You will play a key role in shaping bid strategy, analysing drawings and documentation, developing cost models, and ensuring our tenders are technically robust, commercially competitive, and aligned with client expectations. Key Tasks & Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for commercial proposals in collaboration with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain. Develop detailed first‑principles estimates. Analyse drawings, specifications, PPR’s, price schedules, and historical data to determine labour, material, and equipment costs. Prepare estimates aligned to work‑breakdown structures and scheduling requirements. Develop conceptual information to deliver definitive total installed cost estimates. Lead pre‑contract kick‑off meetings to plan bid strategy and confirm delivery methodologies. Source and evaluate firm quotes from suppliers, subcontractors, and equipment vendors. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy, consistency, and competitiveness of estimates. Support the development and maintenance of cost databases, supplier directories, and pricing records. Preferred Qualifications & Experience Previous experience estimating EPC projects, preferably within the renewable energy sector. Qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience. 10+ years’ experience in an Estimating role. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organisational skills. Strong understanding of construction methodologies and processes. Experience with Win Est or other estimating software is a plus but not essential. Right to work in Australia is essential.
