About the End Client The end client is a Queensland-based public sector organisation responsible for strengthening across communities. This role supports risk management initiatives that align with state-wide frameworks and policies, working closely with government agencies, local authorities, and technical stakeholders. About the Role An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Project Manager to support delivery of key programs and initiatives that enhance resilience across Queensland. You will manage program-funded projects with defined timeframes and deliverables, while also contributing to the uplift of project management governance and capability within the division. The role requires a balance of strategic oversight and hands‑on delivery in a fast‑paced, multi‑stakeholder environment. This is a contract engagement , based in Brisbane CBD , supporting resilience and recovery initiatives of state significance. Key Responsibilities Coordinate development and implementation of risk management policies and programs in collaboration with government agencies and external stakeholders. Manage program‑funded projects with clear deliverables, milestones, and timelines, ensuring adherence to best‑practice project management methodologies. Develop and embed project management governance frameworks, tools, and processes to strengthen delivery capability. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, local councils, and technical partners. Support development of tools, guidelines, and engagement initiatives that promote community awareness and resilience. Operate effectively in high‑pressure environments , maintaining delivery momentum across multiple concurrent initiatives. Contribute to broader divisional objectives and undertake duties of equivalent complexity as required. Required Skills & Experience Project Management Expertise 5+ years’ experience leading and delivering high‑profile projects, preferably within disaster recovery, or public‑sector programs. Strong working knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. PMBoK, PRINCE2), supported by relevant qualifications. Stakeholder Engagement Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, local councils, and community organisations. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information into accessible language for varied audiences. Leadership & Capability Experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams and fostering collaborative delivery cultures. Ability to inspire teams and drive shared outcomes across organisational boundaries. Strong strategic thinking, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capability in complex environments. Desirable Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in: Disaster risk management Natural sciences Engineering Planning Or a related discipline What’s on Offer?
