About the role This is a rare opportunity for a dynamic and pragmatic commercial lawyer with 2–3+ years’ PQE to join the legal team of a rapidly scaling business, providing legal support to Mable and its related companies in the Attain HealthTech Group. Working as part of a small, collaborative team, you will partner closely with business functions to manage legal and regulatory matters and deliver practical, commercially focused solutions across a broad range of issues. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will enjoy genuine autonomy and the opportunity to influence the delivery of Mable’s strategic objectives in a fast‑paced, purpose‑driven technology company. Key accountabilities Provide commercially oriented advice and support to the business on a wide range of legal issues including IP, marketing, regulatory compliance, employment, privacy and data protection Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify and mitigate risks for Attain products and services Monitor legal and regulatory compliance for all areas that may impact Attain’s operations Assist the business with projects to improve products and services Contribute to an innovative culture with your legal expertise and initiative and assist in the development and implementation of legal strategies and initiatives Embrace a role that offers constant variety and the chance to tackle new challenges head‑on. Skills, knowledge and experience Bachelor of Laws degree and current Legal Practising Certificate, with 2+ years’ PQE gained in a law firm or in‑house legal team, and a strong grounding in corporate and commercial law Ability to build trusted relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the business Strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment Proactive, self‑motivated and solutions‑focused, with a positive “can‑do” attitude Strong problem‑solving skills and sound commercial judgement Knowledge of Australian contract law and core commercial principles Strong commercial acumen and an ability to provide practical legal advice aligned with business objectives Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities across a varied workload Collaborative and team‑oriented approach, with the ability to work effectively within a small shared services team Experience in a start‑up or technology business is advantageous, but not essential High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to work autonomously while also contributing positively within a collaborative environment Clear and confident communicator who values plain English and can translate complex legal concepts into practical, actionable advice Benefits Power your career: Learn from industry experts, experienced leaders, and on‑the‑job opportunities.
