Policy, Advocacy & Communications Lead - NFP Parramatta Location (2 days in the office) Not for Profit - Purpose lead business/give back $130k + super Pathfinder Recruitment are partnering with an Associations of NSW to appoint an Policy, Advocacy & Communications Lead. This is a unique opportunity to join a purpose‑led organisation representing public school communities across NSW and play a key role shaping advocacy, policy, stakeholder engagement and public affairs initiatives across the education sector. Working closely with the CEO and President, you will lead strategic communications, advocacy campaigns and external affairs activity that supports the Federation’s policy agenda and strengthens its voice across government, media and the broader community. This role is ideal for an experienced communications, advocacy, public affairs or stakeholder engagement professional who enjoys influencing outcomes, building relationships and driving meaningful community impact. Key Responsibilities Lead advocacy and stakeholder engagement initiatives aligned to organisational priorities Develop evidence‑based policy positions, submissions, briefing papers and advocacy materials Drive strategic communications and public affairs activity across media, digital and member channels Prepare the CEO and President for government, media and sector engagement opportunities Manage media strategy, messaging, issues management and reputational communications Monitor policy, government and education sector developments and provide strategic insights Build relationships with community organisations, education stakeholders, sector partners and government representatives Oversee communications planning, publications, campaigns and external messaging Support and mentor a Communications Coordinator About You You may come from a background in: Advocacy Public affairs Communications Government relations Policy Media or external affairs You are a strategic thinker and strong communicator who can translate complex issues into clear messaging and advocacy outcomes. You will Bring Experience in advocacy, strategic communications, public affairs or stakeholder engagement Exceptional writing, editing and communication skills Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders, media and external partners Strong relationship management and influencing capability The ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment A collaborative, proactive and purpose‑driven approach Why Join?
