About the Role As a Business Analyst in the Office of AI, you’ll help turn AI potential into practical outcomes by working with business and delivery teams to identify where AI can add real value, lead discovery and process conversations, and translate complex problems into clear, testable requirements. The role offers a hybrid working environment. Location : Sydney or Melbourne (preferred); flexible across other cities in Australia. Key Responsibilities Identify AI use cases aligned to business problems and shape them into well‑defined use cases with clear success measures. Facilitate discovery, process and transformation workshops, documenting decisions and providing analysis. Create clear artefacts – user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps – that teams can confidently build from. Build value stream maps (current and future state) and define flow measures to create an evidence base for improvement. Support testing, go‑live confidence and outcomes tracking by defining test approaches, writing test cases, supporting UAT and validating the definition of done; maintain outcomes through traceability, change management, and post‑deployment value tracking. Create transparency and clarity for stakeholders navigating complex change, partnering across the organisation to enable AI adoption at scale. About You Essential Technical Qualities 3–6 years’ experience in business analysis, consulting, or a similar role in complex environments. Strong capability in gathering requirements, documentation and stakeholder facilitation. Demonstrated experience facilitating workshops and translating complex stakeholder inputs into actionable requirements and acceptance criteria. Hands‑on experience in process mapping and/or value stream mapping, identifying bottlenecks and defining improvement actions. Highly Desirable Experience delivering process change and transformation, including automation or AI‑enabled initiatives, with hands‑on process mapping and continuous improvement. Strong grounding in Lean ways of working, including value stream mapping and flow measures. Working knowledge of AI, data and digital delivery, including core AI concepts (automation, ML, GenAI), data analysis/visualisation tools and agile or iterative environments. Non-Technical Qualities Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability, able to work through complexity and identify practical improvement opportunities. Clear communication and translation skills, able to turn complex ideas and stakeholder input into structured, understandable outputs. Confident stakeholder engagement across business and technology teams to build alignment and shared understanding. Skilled workshop facilitation and collaboration, guiding groups to agreed requirements, decisions and improvement actions. Personal Attributes Curiosity and structured thinking; ask great questions and turn answers into crisp artefacts. Integrity and care, especially important when shaping solutions that must be trustworthy and responsible. Comfort with ambiguity. Qualifications University degree in Business, Technology, Operations or a related field (or equivalent experience). Demonstrated capability in business analysis practices: requirements elicitation, documentation and stakeholder facilitation.
