Your impact Jacobs is looking for a Senior Engineer Power Systems Consultant to join our specialist Transmission and Distribution Studies team. This role is suited to engineers willing to work across steady‑state and dynamic power system modelling and analysis through to earthing and EMT studies. You will develop technical depth and confidence in consulting delivery with the support of an experienced team and have the opportunity to contribute to major Australian and global energy transition projects. Responsibilities Apply power system fundamentals to practical challenges (operations, protection interactions, compliance). Support and progressively lead steady‑state and dynamic modelling and analysis. Produce clear, high‑quality outputs across calculations, models, reports, and presentations. Deliver and support engineering studies in earthing and EMT. Collaborate with senior engineers and specialists to learn best‑practice methods and build technical ownership. Utilise AI and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and quality. Qualifications Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent engineering discipline). Understanding of electrical engineering principles, basic physics, and control system fundamentals. Strong fundamentals in circuit theory and electromagnetism, applied to power system earthing, system operation and protection considerations and safety. Willingness to learn and grow, including taking on new technical and client‑facing responsibilities. Adaptability to work across varied tasks from advanced power system modelling and analysis to earthing and EMT studies. Exposure or willingness to utilise software packages CDEGS, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, PSS E, ETAP. Benefits Market‑competitive remuneration and benefits.
