Dawson Mine Located near Moura, Queensland, Dawson Mine is a large open‑cut steelmaking coal operation comprising Central and South pits, operating since 1961. The mine is part of Anglo American’s portfolio of five coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin. Job Description We are seeking an experienced Mining Supervisor with a focus on Drills and Mine Services to oversee the safe and efficient operation of Dawson’s Overburden Drilling & Mine Service operations. Reporting to the Drill & Blast Superintendent, you will demonstrate a drive for safety and strong interpersonal and leadership skills. You will be responsible for managing and leading a large team of operators to ensure operational production standards are met, and for planning, monitoring, and coordinating personnel, equipment, and resources to achieve set targets and schedules. The role is ideal for those who enjoy coaching and mentoring an established crew, tackling investigative challenges, and working closely with other site departments while maintaining strong relationships. Qualifications Supervisor experience running a large team within an open‑cut mining operation. Demonstrated experience with Overburden Drilling & Mine Services operations and a working knowledge of relevant legislation. Hold the Supervisor & Risk Facilitator competencies (S1, S2, S3 & G2). Trainer & Assessor certification is desirable. Additional Information Full‑time permanent position based at Dawson Mine, Moura QLD. Attractive 7 on, 7 off day/night roster.
