This role is responsible for developing long‑term customer partnerships, growing market share, and delivering complete equipment solutions across an assigned territory. Represent a globally recognised premium brand – Vermeer Work within a stable, family‑owned organisation with a strong national footprint Autonomy to manage your territory and customer relationships Supportive leadership, clear sales systems and structured processes Ongoing training, development and performance support A values‑driven culture that celebrates teamwork, accountability and success What You’ll Be Doing As an Area Manager – Construction, you will: Develop and maintain long‑term partnerships with customers within your assigned territory Promote Vermeer construction whole goods, parts and service as complete, value‑adding customer solutions Use company sales systems and tools to document, track and manage sales activity accurately Drive sales volume, market share and customer satisfaction in line with agreed targets Build strong knowledge of Vermeer products, manufacturer programs and industry trends Maintain awareness of competitors, local market conditions and used equipment values Coordinate and conduct field demonstrations and operate machinery at customer worksites Work closely with Sales Managers, Branch Managers and internal departments to progress orders Ensure timely follow‑up, delivery coordination and professional customer handovers Represent RDO Equipment with professionalism across the industry and local community Champion safety, company policies and RDO values in all interactions What We’re Looking For Someone Who: Has prior sales experience, ideally within equipment, machinery, construction, environmental or related industries Understands local market conditions and customer needs Demonstrated ability to leverage social media platforms for market research, lead generation, and promotional activity, with strong digital literacy considered highly advantageous Has strong communication, relationship‑building and negotiation skills Delivers excellent customer service and follows through on commitments Is confident using CRM systems and computer‑based sales tools Has knowledge of machinery resale values and trade‑in assessments Is self‑motivated, organised and comfortable working autonomously Is willing to travel within the territory Who is RDO?
