The successful candidate will provide strong leadership, vision, and strategic direction, ensuring highly effective operational management of perioperative clinical services across Epworth Freemasons’ Albert Street and Victoria Parade hospitals. About Epworth Freemasons Located in East Melbourne, close to public transport and the CBD, Epworth Freemasons provides world‑class health services. It is one of Victoria’s leading maternity hospitals, specialising in women’s and men’s health services including breast and gynaecological surgery, endoscopy, urology, comprehensive cancer care, and a full range of surgical services (robotic assisted surgery, orthopaedics, ICU). Epworth Freemasons has recently upgraded and expanded its operating theatres and admissions facilities, along with major refurbishments of patient rooms and building infrastructure. You will make an impact by: Managing the operational and business direction of Perioperative Services (Operating Suites, CSSD, Day of Surgery Admissions, Short Stay Unit) Focusing on theatre utilisation, growth, business development, and risk management Building engaged teams and developing a culture of excellence and accountability Leading teams through change, fostering engagement, resilience, and continuous improvement To be successful in the role you will: Have extensive Perioperative Services Leadership experience across all relevant service areas Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including presentation and public speaking Build and maintain rapport and effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, driving service growth and efficiencies Manage human and material resources to meet organisational cost‑efficient delivery while maintaining high standards of safe care and service delivery to patients, VMOs, and staff Possess clinical knowledge in service delivery in accordance with legislated requirements, industry codes of practice, and organisational policy and procedures in perioperative settings Qualifications Postgraduate qualification in Perioperative nursing and/or management is highly desirable Registered Nurse, with current registration – Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Benefits Salary package up to $15,900 pre‑tax annually Largest educational scholarship program in Australia Ability to purchase up to four additional weeks of leave Reduced cost of health services for you and your family at Epworth Relocation assistance available for approved candidates Equity, Diversity & Inclusion We welcome applicants from all backgrounds.
