Mechanical Fitter Leading Hand – Pump Rebuild Workshop Mechanical Fitter Leading Hand – Pump Rebuild Workshop The Role We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter Leading Hand to help set up and lead pump rebuild operations in a brand-new workshop at Pinjarra. This is a hands‑on role — ideal for a senior fitter who takes pride in quality rebuild work, can lead from the floor, and wants to help build systems, standards, and team culture from day one. You’ll be working on stripping, rebuilding, assembling, and testing dewatering pumps and rotating equipment in a modern, well‑equipped workshop. Why Join ABBA Engineering? What We Offer: Permanent full‑time role Stable Mon–Fri roster (6:00am–4:00pm) Home every night (no FIFO or shutdown travel) Modern workshop and equipment Strong, supportive team environment Career progression into supervisory/production roles Key Responsibilities Pump Rebuild & Assembly Lead stripping, inspection, rebuilds, assembly and testing Fault finding and troubleshooting during builds Support commissioning and final testing Mentor junior fitters and assemblers Coordinate workflow with fabrication and production teams Maintain output, quality, and schedule targetsPromote safe work practices and good housekeeping Quality & Improvement Carry out QA checks and final inspections Read drawings, BOMs and technical specs Complete accurate build documentation Help improve SOPs and workshop processes What You’ll Need 5+ years workshop experience Previous Leading Hand or senior fitter experience Strong pump or rotating equipment rebuild experience Ability to read engineering drawings Ability to pass medical & drug/alcohol screening Overhead crane ticket LR/MR licence What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days) Safe work habits and strong workshop standards Consistent, high-quality rebuilds with minimal rework Contribution to SOPs and workflow improvements Supporting skill development across the team Helping keep production running smoothly and efficiently About You Hands‑on fitter who leads by example Focused on quality and doing the job right first time Clear communicator on the tools Comfortable working to production targets Practical, reliable, and solutions‑focused About ABBA Engineering ABBA Engineering is an Australian‑owned, ISO‑accredited engineering and manufacturing company working across mining, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
