Role Project Leader (Data Centres) – a key leadership role in the Building Engineering Services Business Group, responsible for delivering mission‑critical data centre projects across Melbourne and Sydney. Responsibilities Lead data‑centre projects from concept to completion, overseeing client requirements, scope, technical specifications, cost planning and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Monitor project budgets, forecast financial performance and achieve profitability targets. Complete design and execution activities within established programme timelines, managing costs and resources to meet client and organisational objectives. Build and maintain strong, long‑term client relationships to secure repeat business. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, participate in presentations to potential clients and help expand HDR’s market presence. Motivate and manage project teams, set clear objectives, monitor performance, foster collaboration and support professional development through coaching and mentoring. Qualifications 10+ years of experience designing, managing and delivering projects, with a strong focus on mission‑critical infrastructure. Proven experience within the mission‑critical/data‑centre sector, demonstrating expertise in delivering complex projects. Strong leadership skills with experience managing project teams, contractors and third‑party vendors. Skilled in ongoing project management, ensuring successful outcomes and client satisfaction. Strong resource‑management capabilities. Demonstrated ability to establish rapport with clients, project teams and other stakeholders. Relevant degree or equivalent education in engineering, construction or project management. Chartered status, or pursuit of status if not already achieved. Competent in MS Office suite and relevant project and design analysis software. Location Australia – NSW – Sydney (Primary). Additional location: Australia – VIC – Melbourne.
