This role is for an experienced Project Manager responsible for leading the delivery and modernisation of a complex, data-driven platform. You will manage a multidisciplinary team, drive Agile delivery, and ensure projects are delivered on time within a fast-paced environment. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement, technical understanding, and the ability to align business needs with scalable, high-quality solutions.Contract Length: 12‑month initial contract, with further 2 x 12‑month extensions available Security Clearance & Citizenship: Must be an Australian Citizen and hold a minimum NV1 security clearance Location: QLD, WA, ACT, VIC, NSW, SA, TAS with Hybrid work environment What You Will Do Lead the delivery and modernisation of a complex, nationally significant application platform. Manage a multidisciplinary team of developers, scientists, and technical specialists across multiple locations. Drive Agile delivery, including sprint planning, backlog prioritisation, and release management. Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions. Oversee project timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies to ensure successful delivery. Manage DevOps workflows and ensure high standards of code quality and system reliability. Lead technical discussions to resolve issues and improve development processes. Provide regular updates and insights to senior stakeholders, including executive-level communication. Support cloud platform development and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and governance frameworks. Contribute to strategic planning, including future roadmap development and funding proposals. Technologies You Will Work With Cloud platforms and enterprise hosting environments DevOps tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines) Modern application development stacks (including C# / C++ legacy environments) Geospatial and data-driven systems (large datasets, complex data models) Agile delivery tools and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) Enterprise architecture and governance frameworks You Should Have Proven experience delivering large, complex ICT projects with multidisciplinary teams. Strong background in Agile and traditional project management methodologies. Experience managing project budgets, timelines, and quality metrics. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with strict deadlines. Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences. Experience working within enterprise-scale systems and architectures. Ability to translate technical challenges into clear, actionable insights for executives. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Nice to Have Experience working with geospatial data or scientific/analytical applications. Exposure to modernising legacy systems into cloud-based environments. Background in data-intensive or research-driven platforms.
