Where you’ll be working HKH Emergency Department has recently received approval to expand its capacity with six additional beds. We are now recruiting to build the team that will support this growth. We are a Level 5 mixed Emergency Department caring for both adult and paediatric patients across the full spectrum of emergency presentations. Our department is busy, purposeful and proud of the standard of care we deliver. What you’ll be doing Working within a flexible 12-hour rostering pattern, you will be part of a skilled multidisciplinary team managing complex, varied, and high-acuity presentations. Whether you are consolidating your early career or bringing established ED expertise, there is meaningful work here and a clear pathway to grow within it. Clinical Variety : As a mixed adult and paediatric department, no two shifts are alike. You will develop and maintain a broad clinical skill set across a genuine range of emergency presentations. Our department includes an Emergency Department Short Stay Unit and the first Geriatric Emergency Medicine Short Stay Unit in the district. Our nurses develop and practise advanced clinical skills across the full scope of emergency nursing practice. Collaborative Practice : We work in a genuinely collaborative environment alongside our medical colleagues, with a flat structure and a shared focus on patient care. Learning & Career Progression : We invest seriously in our nurses. Our education program is built around a structured professional development pathway, supported by a dedicated Clinical Nurse Consultant and Clinical Nurse Educator team, with close ties to our Simulation Centre. In-situ simulation runs weekly within the department, and our team participates in hospital-wide simulation programs. Specialist Education : We offer in-house courses developed specifically for our team, including interprofessional programs that bring nursing and medical staff through training together. Our curriculum incorporates human factors principles, recognising that safe, high-performing teams require more than clinical knowledge alone. Clinical Nurse Specialist roles and acting positions at Clinical Nurse Educator and Nurse Unit Manager level provide clear stepping stones for nurses ready to develop their leadership and clinical expertise.
