Location: Brisbane, AustraliaType: Contract Role Overview We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support the migration of on-prem SQL databases to Microsoft Azure . This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, cloud platforms, and business stakeholders , translating complex data and platform requirements into clear, actionable delivery outcomes. This is a hands-on, technical BA role. Key Responsibilities Elicit, analyse, and document functional and non-functional requirements for migrating SQL databases to Azure. Work with architects and engineers on solutions leveraging: Azure SQL / Azure Synapse Azure Data Factory (ADF) for data ingestion and orchestration Databricks for data transformation and analytics Translate business and data requirements into: Data models Source-to-target mappings Pipeline and transformation logic Support Azure DevOps : Backlog management User stories, acceptance criteria Sprint planning and delivery tracking Lead and coordinate UAT activities : Define UAT scope, scenarios, and test cases Support defect triage and resolution Validate data accuracy, reconciliation, and quality Act as the bridge between business users, data teams, and cloud engineers , ensuring alignment on outcomes and constraints. Required Skills & Experience Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst in data-centric environments. Proven experience working on cloud data migrations , ideally from on-prem SQL to Microsoft Azure . Solid understanding of: SQL databases (querying, schema, performance concepts) Azure Data Factory Databricks Azure DevOps Experience documenting: Data flows Data transformations Integration and interface specifications Hands‑on involvement in UAT planning and execution . Strong stakeholder management across technical and non-technical audiences.
