This position qualifies for an annual Recruitment Incentive Package up to $10,000 under the NSW Health Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme. The scheme recognises key health workers and provides incentives over and above award entitlements to attract and retain staff in rural and remote areas. Employment Information Employment Type: Casual Position Classification: Registered Nurse Remuneration: $37.48 – $52.62 per hour + Superannuation Requisition ID: REQ Location: Balranald NSW (1 hour from Swan Hill VIC) Recruitment Incentive Package: Up to $10,000 (pro‑rated to contracted or ordinary working hours, paid fortnightly) Responsibilities Work in one of the Far West LHD's newer, modern facilities located 100 metres from the Murrumbidgee River. Join a supportive, multi-disciplinary healthcare team who welcome all newcomers to the hospital family. Develop your skills and progress your career working across a wide range of specialties in a smaller rural hospital. Co‑locate with a doctor and GP practice – a doctor is never far away. Qualifications Current nursing/midwifery registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a postgraduate qualification relevant to the position or willingness to undertake one. Recent remote and Emergency Department clinical experience, including current Advanced Life Support accreditation. Demonstrated application of professional and ethical boundaries to patient care in a multi‑disciplinary team. Demonstrated application of evidence‑based practice and critical thinking to advocate for and implement individualized, person‑centred care. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and to personally resolve conflicts when they arise. Demonstrated commitment to working and partnering with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, families and employees to enhance health outcomes for Indigenous clients. Evidence of participation in ongoing professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancing skills, with willingness to apply and share expertise with colleagues. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills within a multidisciplinary team. Benefits Rural Incentive on offer.
