Assistant Store Manager (2IC) at Petstock Indooroopilly – support the Store Manager in leading a passionate team to deliver world‑class customer service and drive the success of the Petstock Group. Responsibilities Lead by example, mentoring and inspiring the team daily. Support the Store Manager in coaching the team to achieve and develop their knowledge and skills. Lead from the front by consistently providing an exceptional customer experience. Create a strong safety mindset and foster a culture of safety within the team. Assist the Store Manager in managing stock effectively, ensuring accuracy and adherence to stock integrity processes. Support visual merchandising of stock displays, ensuring VM standards are consistently maintained. Demonstrate initiative by staying up to date on pet care, products, and services. Recruit, onboard, and induct high‑calibre new team members. Create a fun, supportive in‑store culture where the team loves coming to work each day. Actively support local marketing opportunities and sponsorships. Qualifications Experience in a similar store leadership role or a strong desire to progress into retail management. Demonstrated drive to achieve and exceed sales targets. Strong leadership ability to motivate and build high‑performing teams while fostering a positive culture. Strong priority‑setting and time‑management skills, ensuring timely completion of tasks. Proven ability to drive safe work, health & safety practices. Established business acumen. Flexibility and adaptability to changing work environments. Strong interpersonal skills, building relationships and rapport with customers and the wider team.
