Your New Role As Senior Advisory Specialist – Obligations Management, you will sit within the Enterprise Compliance function in Group Risk and support the uplift and ongoing management of the obligations management lifecycle. You will work closely with stakeholders across the Fund to help ensure AustralianSuper meets its regulatory and compliance obligations, supporting trust and confidence from members and stakeholders. Assisting in managing the obligations management lifecycle, including identification of obligations, partnering with Line 1 to evaluate impacts and monitoring the effectiveness of controls to mitigate non‑compliance risk. Managing obligations within the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) system. Assessing and supporting the management of action plans to comply with obligations, including providing guidance, constructive challenge and monitoring completion of key actions. Conducting deep dives to support an understanding of key causes, consequences and necessary controls in place to manage compliance risk within appetite. Translating insights into practical, business‑aligned recommendations that improve decision‑making and performance. Providing insights into the regulatory environment and regulatory change pipeline, including emerging issues and industry trends. Building and maintaining strong relationships with Line 1 colleagues across the Fund to support effective obligations management, including regulatory change. Working collaboratively with stakeholders to provide specialist advice to achieve continuous improvement to policies, standards, processes, controls and assurance. What You’ll Need Tertiary qualifications in business, law or a commerce‑related field. Significant experience in a similar obligations, risk, compliance or assurance role. Strong understanding of governance, risk and compliance management practices and regulatory obligations, ideally within superannuation or financial services. Demonstrated experience in assurance, including validating the design and operating effectiveness of key controls to mitigate compliance risk. Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and report‑writing skills, with the ability to influence and respectfully challenge where required. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset. Australian or New Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent residency status is required.
