Beak & Johnston is a leading Australian fresh food manufacturer, partnering with major retailers to deliver premium, chef-inspired products nationwide. As our Coles account continues to scale and evolve, we are seeking a National Business Manager to act as a key commercial leader within the Coles partnership along with other strategic customers and partnerships. This role is designed for an experienced FMCG professional who can operate at a strategic and operational level, supporting the Director of Commercial while providing leadership across core components of the Coles account and other strategic accounts. The ideal candidate will drive expansion for the portfolio by delivering to our customer strategy, commercial outcomes and execution excellence. They will leverage their industry experience and commercial acumen to identify new growth opportunities, strengthen strategic partnerships and position B&J as a key player in the market. There will be significant autonomy across assigned categories, initiatives and commercial processes, and act as a senior escalation point internally and externally. Key Responsibilities Partner with the Director of Commercial to shape and deliver the Coles customer and other strategic partnerships strategy within the portfolio Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities and growth Co lead Joint Business Planning, annual negotiations, range reviews and innovation pipelines Own commercial performance for assigned categories, including pricing, promotions and profitability Lead forecasting, budgeting and volume planning to support supply and financial accuracy Provide deep sales, margin and shopper insight to inform strategic decision making Prepare and deliver senior level customer presentations and internal updates Act as day to day commercial lead on the account, including during periods of absence Mentor and support team and cross functional contributors Identify and execute growth opportunities aligned to Coles? category vision. Identifying new customer opportunities that help grow the business customer portfolio and subsequent capex investment required taking into consideration cost and ROI benefit. About You 6?10 years? experience in FMCG account management or commercial roles Proven exposure to Coles or major Australian grocery retailers Strong commercial and financial acumen with confident negotiation capability Experience supporting or leading JBPs, range reviews and annual trading terms Strategic thinker who can also drive disciplined execution Influential stakeholder manager across senior internal and external audiences Ready to step into a strategic sales role Ideally Melbourne based working remotely with monthly travel required.
