We are looking for an Audio Engineer to work across our established audiobook program. You will be responsible for the production of audiobooks, from recording to post‑production. The role will work closely with the Lead Audio Engineer and wider Audio team, to create best‑in‑class audiobooks. This is a full‑time position based in North Sydney. What you will do (role specific) Record and edit a wide variety of audiobooks Conduct pickups sessions, post‑production processing, quality control checks and file management Be involved in technical and creative aspects of sound design, composition and problem‑solving with the Audio team Assist Audio Producer with research, casting and project management Assist other teams in creation of ads, podcasts and other digital media What you will bring Minimum of two years’ experience in a professional studio recording and/or post‑production environment (prior experience with audiobooks/long‑form audio will be highly regarded) High level of proficiency with studio recording equipment, Reaper and another DAW Up to date with the latest developments in recording technology Exceptional organisational skills and a track record of turning around audio on a tight deadline A love and knowledge of books/audiobooks The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team Why Penguin Random House?
