About the role We are seeking a commercially minded and technically strong Finance Manager. This is a key leadership role responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and business partnering across operations and capital projects. Working closely with senior leaders, you will provide clear financial insight to support performance, governance, and strategic decision‑making in a complex, asset‑intensive environment. This role can be based in Perth, Sydney, or Melbourne. Specific Responsibilities Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning processes across operational cost centres. Partner with operational, commercial, and project teams to provide financial analysis, performance insights, and decision support. Monitor operating expenditure, capital projects, and cash flow, identifying risks, trends, and improvement opportunities. Deliver variance analysis and management reporting to support executive decision‑making. Strengthen internal controls, governance, and financial processes across the business. Support audit, tax, statutory, and regulatory reporting requirements. Oversee project accounting, asset‑related financial reporting, and cost allocation. Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members while driving continuous improvement. Qualifications & Experience Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline. CA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification. Proven experience in finance leadership roles, ideally within oil and gas, energy, mining, or another capital‑intensive industry. Strong capability in financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysis. Experience supporting operational teams and large‑scale capital or asset‑based projects. Sound understanding of internal controls, compliance, and statutory reporting obligations. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non‑finance leaders. A proactive, hands‑on approach with strong attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset. Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel or financial modelling tools will be highly regarded.
