Senior Privacy Officer Salary A$129,464.00/yr - A$142,665.00/yr Location: Sydney + WFH (hybrid) Role Type: Temporary 12 months, possibility of extension About the role Reporting to the Senior Privacy Manager, this role operates in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment to support and facilitate the implementation of digital content across nsw.gov.au while supporting many agencies with content on the platform. The Senior Privacy Officer ensures that the OneCX website and its growing content maintain the highest level of data protection and privacy compliance. Responsibilities Provide expert privacy advice across a range of digital projects and initiatives. Lead the development of Privacy Impact Assessments and Privacy Collection Notices. Support the management and investigation of privacy breaches and incidents, including root cause analysis and remediation planning. Contribute to the development and uplift of privacy frameworks, policies, and procedures. Build privacy awareness and capability across multidisciplinary teams through training, coaching, and guidance. Collaborate with legal, cyber security, information security, and data governance teams to ensure a holistic approach to privacy and data protection. Qualifications Experience in delivering privacy/data protection risk management activities, including privacy assessments. Experience managing and responding to privacy breaches, including investigation, reporting, and remediation. Working knowledge of privacy principles or Privacy‑by‑Design for digital products and services. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing competing priorities and deadlines. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills at all levels. Proficiency with Office 365 suites. Positive, can‑do attitude in an agile, fast‑paced environment. Certification in privacy or data protection (e.g. CIPM, CIPT). Strong working knowledge of NSW privacy legislation.
