Overview As Group Strategy Director , you’ll step into a role with real scope to shape ideas, influence outcomes and raise the bar on what great media strategy looks like. This is an opportunity for a strategist who thrives on variety and impact. You’ll switch comfortably between deep client problem solving, creative collaboration, mentoring senior talent, and shaping strategic standards across the agency. You’ll lead strategic excellence across a portfolio of ambitious, high‑profile clients – from a challenger brand looking to disrupt categories, to established businesses entering their next phase of growth – working closely with senior clients and stakeholders to guide complex decisions with confidence, creativity and commercial rigour. The role is intentionally hands‑on. You’ll author and shape strategy on major briefs, push bravery in thinking, and help teams move from good work to genuinely influential, market‑leading ideas. Alongside this, you’ll have the autonomy to think bigger – evolving Zenith’s strategic product and creating work with real award‑winning potential. Operating at group level while staying close to the craft, you’ll drive work where strategy proves its value: diagnosing where growth truly comes from, building the case for smarter media investment, and aligning teams around a clear definition of success. What you will do with us Lead strategic excellence across a patch of key paid clients, ensuring strategies are anchored in business objectives, clear KPIs and measurable outcomes. Champion Zenith’s ROI3 approach (Insight, Imagination, Investment), embedding connected planning and brave thinking across client teams. Shape and author strategy on complex or high‑stakes briefs, while also elevating work through coaching of other team members. Partner with clients as a trusted advisor, confidently guiding clients and teams through strategic decisions, annual planning and growth conversations. Translate deep consumer, business and cultural insight into compelling, actionable communication and media strategies. Push for more imaginative, distinctive ideas – encouraging clients and teams to be braver, backed by marketing science and rigour. Drive innovation by bringing together media, data, technology and creative thinking to deliver work with real PR and award potential. Contribute to new business pitches by shaping strong strategic narratives and clearly articulating Zenith’s point of view. Mentor other team members on the Strategy team, raising overall strategic capability, craft and confidence across the team. Collaborate closely with planning, investment, data, product and broader Publicis Groupe teams to deliver fully integrated solutions. What You’ll Bring Proven experience operating at a Senior Strategy Director or Strategy Lead level, ideally within a media agency or media publisher, where the remit went beyond individual briefs to owning strategic standards across multiple clients. A strong track record of leading strategy across multiple clients, including complex or high‑investment accounts. Confidence setting strategic direction, challenging thinking and elevating the work of other strategists. Experience being accountable for measurement frameworks, linking media choices to client KPIs and business outcomes. Experience partnering with senior clients – you can confidently hold a room, shape the strategic narrative and point of view. Hands‑on strategic capability – you’re comfortable getting into the detail as well as leading from a higher altitude. Experience contributing to new business pitches, particularly shaping the strategic story and perspective. Curiosity for emerging channels, platforms and formats, with an ambition to create work that stands out in market. A collaborative mindset – you work effectively and constructively with multi‑disciplinary teams to turn ideas into action and contribute to award‑worthy work.
