AI Tech Lead Lead Zurich’s AI Agent development lifecycle end-to-end, shaping AI engineering standards and driving technical delivery from discovery and experimentation through design, build, and reliable production operations. You’ll build scalable, secure, maintainable full‑stack agentic solutions and contribute to our AI Agent and Agentic Platform strategy, with a strong focus on AIOps/DevSecOps, AI observability, evaluation, reliability, resilience, and proactive cost management. Working closely with product, design, SMEs and engineers across squads, you’ll align on shared frameworks, deliver reusable capabilities (libraries, APIs, design patterns such as BFF/microservices), and uplift engineering practices through code reviews, pairing, showcases and chapter collaboration. Sitting at the heart of a modern product‑led environment, this role exists to lead technical strategy, uplift engineering standards, and create scalable, secure solutions that unlock meaningful customer and business outcomes. You’ll guide a talented squad of engineers, partnering closely with product and design to take ideas from exploration through to production, while helping build Zurich’s next generation of agentic AI capabilities. You will be responsible for the following: Leading end-to-end AI agent development from discovery through to reliable production outcomes Setting and uplifting AI engineering standards, practices and ways of working across squads Driving secure, scalable and observable AI-native solutions that perform in production Partnering closely with product, design and business stakeholders to solve meaningful problems Supporting and mentoring engineers to build capability, confidence and engineering excellence Championing reuse, shared platforms and frameworks to accelerate delivery and consistency Ideal for a high‑accountability continuous delivery environment, you’ll bring 10+ years’ cloud‑native full‑stack experience (React/Next.js; TypeScript/Python), hands‑on AI engineering (RAG, LLM agent orchestration using frameworks such as LangChain/CrewAI/LangGraph; vector databases; evaluation and grounding), strong AWS and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., ECS/Lambda/Terraform), and mature CI/CD, security automation, and quality engineering (e.g., GitHub Actions/GitLab CI, LaunchDarkly, Playwright, Langfuse/Dynatrace). Experience in insurance or other regulated industries is a plus.
