Your Role at St John of God Midland Hospital You will be a highly organised and proactive professional providing exceptional secretarial and administrative support to the Emergency Department Medical Leadership Team. You will help coordinate medical leave cover, which includes rostering relief staff and working closely with consultants responsible for Junior Medical Officer (JMO) rostering, as well as Heads of Department managing Consultant leave. You will play an important role in ensuring rosters are accurate, compliant, and well‑communicated, contributing to the efficient operation of a busy Emergency Department. Additionally, you will assist in maintaining Rostering Time & Attendance profiles for all Emergency Department Medical Practitioners, including making required adjustments to timesheets. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic healthcare environment and is passionate about delivering high‑quality administrative support. This role is Fixed term fulltime for 12 months. The position Proactively provide a high level of personal assistance, secretarial and clerical support to the Head of Department. Maintain a directorate filing system to ensure safekeeping and archiving of documents. Create a welcoming and hospitable environment both personally and via telephone and written communication. Liaise with and maintain effective and cooperative communication with Directors, Managers, Caregivers, Group Services Executive and external organisations. Meet and greet visitors to the Head of Department where appropriate. All other reasonable duties as directed by the relevant Manager/Supervisor. Qualifications High level experience in an administrative role with excellent organisational and time‑management skills, including the ability to organise tasks and set priorities, work effectively under pressure and meet multiple deadlines with minimal supervision. Advanced word‑processing and computer literacy skills with experience using Microsoft Office suite. The ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and maintain strict confidentiality is essential. Benefits Salary (increase from 1st July 2026): $88,501 to $90,256 per annum, plus 12% superannuation. A 12 month fixed term full‑time position.
