Financial Accountant Perth, WA Full Time | 12-Month Fixed Term Contract $120,000 - $125,000 + super An established Australian gold exploration and production company is seeking a technically strong and motivated Financial Accountant to join their high-performing Finance team. This is a 12-month contract covering maternity leave, offering exposure to a dynamic and growing gold operation. The Opportunity In this role, you will be a key contributor to accurate financial reporting, compliance, and supporting operational decision-making across WA mining operations. Key Responsibilities: Prepare monthly consolidated Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cashflow reports for leadership Deliver financial statement analysis and meaningful commentary Manage AUC reviews and partner with Project Managers on asset identification Maintain general ledger integrity and oversee month-end close processes Perform balance sheet reconciliations and review prepayments and journals Process gold sales journals and administer shipment documentation Assist with tenement reporting and regulatory filings Support statutory reporting, tax compliance (BAS, FBT, royalties, fuel tax rebates, payroll tax) and audit processes Assist with accounting for exploration & evaluation, mine development and rehabilitation provisions Contribute to the development and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls About You You are a detail-oriented and technically capable Financial Accountant who thrives in a mining or resources environment: Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance CA/CPA qualified or working towards 3–5+ years’ financial accounting experience (mining/resources highly regarded) Strong knowledge of accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements ERP proficiency (SAP Fiori preferred) and advanced Excel skills Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Able to meet pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol screening, and police clearance requirements Full Australian working rights and current WA driver’s licence Why This Role Competitive remuneration package Discretionary bonus schemes Exposure to a fast-growing mining operation Collaborative and close-knit team culture This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing mining operation where your contribution will genuinely make an impact.
