Role Overview We are recruiting for an experienced Pig Farm Manager or a skilled Pig Stockperson looking to progress into a management role. Our client is a family‑run farming business based in Somerset, overseeing a 400‑sow farrow‑to‑finish unit that operates on a 3‑week batch system with outdoor‑reared and free‑range production. The unit includes modern scrape‑through facilities for dry sows, outdoor farrowing on concrete railway sleepers, Hudson barns for growers, deep‑straw indoor accommodation for finished pigs, and full‑time outdoor housing for free‑range pigs. The farm processes all cereals on‑site, feeding them directly back to the livestock. Person Specification Positive, proactive approach Strong knowledge of pig production Commitment to high animal welfare standards Eagerness to grow within the business alongside the owner The role offers flexibility and can be tailored to suit the successful candidate’s strengths, with scope to expand into areas such as staff management and consumer engagement.
