Gold Coast Health is looking for a Psychiatrist to join the Older Persons Mental Health service. Gold Coast Health is a 750‑bed teaching hospital located in a metropolitan, coastal location of Queensland serving a population of 600,000 people. Our Mental Health Service consists of inpatient, outpatient, and community teams. There are 130 inpatient beds: a 50‑bed psychiatric unit with an ICU sub‑unit, a 10‑bed acute young adult unit, an 8‑bed child and youth unit, a 16‑bed aged care unit, a 59‑bed extended care rehabilitation and psycho‑geriatric unit. Services include adult and child consultation/liaison services, an emergency psychiatric service, two adult and two child and adolescent community clinics, and a mobile intensive therapy team. We offer an opportunity to provide both inpatient and community based services with extensive teaching and research responsibilities. Responsibilities Provide inpatient and community psychiatric care for older persons. Deliver teaching to trainees across specialties. Engage in research activities and contribute to the service’s scholarly output. Qualifications Registration as a medical practitioner and specialist psychiatrist (FRANZCP) with the Medical Board of Australia.
