Charter Keck Cramer is seeking to appoint a Legal Counsel to the Legal, Risk & Compliance Team, basedin either Melbourne or Sydney . Reporting directly to the Chief Legal & Risk Officer, you will be involved in a wide range of in-house legal functions and be a key part of a small but dynamic team that services the entire company. Core Responsibilities: Be a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders by providing sound commercial legal advice Support the Chief Legal & Risk Officer with strategic projects that shape the future direction of our company Draft, advise on and negotiate the terms of commercial agreements Establish a thorough understanding of and build a strong relationship with Charter Keck Cramer’s various business units while working on interesting and diverse projects Actively look for and identify new projects and ways the Legal, Risk & Compliance team can add value to the company Position Requirements: Commercially astute with an ability to identify issues and develop practical business focused solutions Pro‑active self‑starter who can autonomously juggle multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities Generalist skill set with a proven track record of drafting and negotiating agreements and advising on a wide range of legal, commercial and operational issues 2+ years post admission experience and current Australian Practising Certificate Flexible working arrangements to afford work life balance, together with career development opportunities, supported by coaching and mentoring is on offer to the successful candidate.
