About the role… Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Manager Enterprise PMO (EPMO) is a unique senior leadership opportunity responsible for leading the Enterprise Project Management Office and connecting strategy and investment for delivery across Council. This role sits at the centre of complex and diverse projects, programs and portfolios, ensuring strong governance, best practice project management and successful outcomes. This is not a traditional PMO role. It requires an agile, strategic and influential leader who can operate strategically while remaining commercially and operationally grounded. The role requires someone who can navigate complexity and ambiguity, build trusted relationships, challenge constructively and move comfortably between strategic thinking and hands on involvement where required. What you will do… Enterprise Leadership - Lead and evolve the Enterprise PMO by driving strong projects, program and portfolio management disciplines across the organisation, balancing governance with agility and practical delivery support. Strategic Delivery - Act as the link between executive vision and organisational delivery, connecting strategy with projects, programs and portfolios. Framework and Governance - Own and maintain the Project Management Framework, reporting systems, governance processes and gate reviews. Portfolio Oversight - Facilitate project controls, capacity planning, risk management, benefits realisation and portfolio reporting. Leadership and Capability - Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement whilst acting as a coach, mentor and support for project managers and teams, building capability and promoting high performance. Stakeholder Engagement - Develop strong relationships and credibility with Executive, Senior Leaders, Elected Members and external partners. Innovation and Improvement - Drive continuous improvement, lessons learned and smarter ways of working across the organisation. Business and Financial Management - Contribute strategic advice, prepare business cases and reports and manage EPMO budgets and resources. What they are looking for… Qualifications in Project Management, Business Management or a related discipline. Significant experience leading complex projects, programs and/or a Project Management Office. Strong strategic and commercial thinking with the ability to confidently lead across multiple portfolios, balancing competing priorities and support successful delivery outcomes in a complex environment. Highly developed emotional intelligence, communication and relationship building capability. Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to forge trusted relationships and influence effectively at all levels. Adaptable , politically and commercially astute, with sound judgement in complex environments. A collaborative and hands‑on leadership style, willing to support teams and delivery outcomes when required. Strong financial, governance and project management capability supported by clear reporting and decision‑making skills.
