Hours: Full Time (1 FTE) Contract: Ongoing Location: Elizabeth North Considerations: This is a 7-day rotating roster position with shifts running between 8:00am and 11:30pm. We're looking for someone with flexibility to work across a range of shift times within our service hours. More Information & Position Description via this link: About the Role: The Senior Peer Practitioner will utilise their personal experience of mental health challenges and distress to engage with guests and their families, carers and supporters of choice. The Senior Peer Practitioner will draw from a strengths-based recovery orientated service of care and act as a role model towards recovery for people experiencing mental health challenges and distress, including in times of crisis. The Senior Peer Practitioner will also support staff and leadership to deliver services in line with best practice guidelines and the Co-Created Philosophy of Care, and will provide Lived Experience supervision to Peer Practitioners as required. Experience Requirements: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a Peer Practitioner, lived experience, or peer support worker role. Personal lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery, with the ability to draw on this experience purposefully and safely in a professional context. Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced environment. Experience supporting the development of skills and understanding in other Peer Practitioners. Experience providing lived experience supervision or mentoring to peer workers is highly desirable. Previous experience in an immediate access or crisis care setting is desirable. Experience using databases, electronic case management systems, and computer systems. Qualification and Other Requirements: Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC) Current or willing to obtain a National Police Check (NPC) Certificate IV in Peer Work or equivalent qualification or willingness to obtain. Demonstrated experience in a lived experience, Peer Practitioner, or Peer Support Worker role Completion of Peer Supervision training through the Lived Experience Workforce Program is desirable. Postgraduate qualification in an area related to mental health and/or lived experience practice is desirable.
