School Rooty Hill High School Job Description The Deputy Principal (ACIP) works with the senior executive to deliver the strategic, operational, wellbeing and curriculum priorities. In addition, the Deputy Principal leads universal, targeted and intensive programmes with students in two year groups, engages with families and the community, and collaborates with the learning support team to deliver inclusion and learning support initiatives. Responsibilities Deliver strategic, operational, wellbeing and curriculum priorities in partnership with the senior executive. Work with key school teams to deliver universal, targeted and intensive student programmes across two year groups. Engage with students, families and the community throughout the school journey. Collaborate with the learning support team to develop and implement inclusion and learning support initiatives. Qualifications Strong educational leadership and teaching capabilities with proven ability to lead universal, targeted and intensive student learning programmes and professional practice. Leading with purpose as a member of the senior executive to engage a culturally and linguistically diverse student and school community. Highly developed skills in evidence‑based practice, the School Excellence Framework, evaluative practice and the School Excellence Policy to plan, implement and evaluate strategic, operational and professional projects. Proven ability to lead inclusive education and design and support complex case management for students with attendance, learning and wellbeing needs and their families. General Selection Criteria Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programmes. Educational leadership skills to build capacity and manage performance of individuals and teams. Well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills with capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy. Conditions Unconditional full approval to teach is required. Special Notes This is a permanently established position through school funds. Continued appointment is subject to the availability of funding, the ongoing requirement of the position and the educational needs of the school.
