Fit Litter has grown from a small challenger brand into an 8-figure category disruptor across AU, UK and NZ, and is now accelerating toward becoming a 9-figure household pet brand. We’re entering Stage 2 of our organisational build, expanding internationally, launching major new product lines, and scaling a world-class content + growth engine. As Head of Performance Creative, you will lead the function that drives one of the most important levers of our business: Creative that sells. You will architect how we ideate, produce, test, and iterate paid social ads at scale, and build a creative department that consistently produces winners on Meta, TikTok and beyond. Your work will directly shape how Fit Litter scales from a fast-growing D2C brand into a household name for modern cat care. The right Head of Performance Creative will be the person who builds it. THE OPPORTUNITY This is not a traditional Head of Creative role. This is not a media buying role. This is not a brand or content role. This is a hybrid commercial and creative leadership role for someone who thinks like a direct-response advertiser, has the taste and instincts of a creative director, and the systems mind of an operator. You will own the paid social creative function end-to-end. Strategy, frameworks, team development, testing systems, and creative direction across Meta, TikTok and emerging platforms. You’ll work in tight partnership with our Head of Marketing & Brand to turn our brand aware audience into converting customers. The executional creative team is already in place. The major gap is leadership, systems, standards, and commercial creative strategy. This role exists to elevate the entire department’s output by building a scalable creative machine that produces winning ads with predictability, not by accident. This is a career-defining role for someone who wants to leave their fingerprints on a category-defining consumer brand. WHO YOU ARE You are, fundamentally, a sales-minded performance advertiser who uses creative as the tool for conversion. You think commercially first and creatively second. You understand that great creative without commercial logic is just art, and commercial logic without creative craft is just data noise. Holding both at the same time is your edge. YOU HAVE: An elite understanding of direct-response advertising and sales psychology, including hooks, emotional triggers, objections, proof, offer positioning, CTAs, and persuasion frameworks Strong creative instincts and taste. You can immediately tell what is high quality and what isn’t, and you understand pacing, editing, retention, and platform-native craft A deep, hands on understanding of how Meta and TikTok creative actually works today, not theoretical, but lived The ability to read and interpret performance data (CTR, CPA, hook rate, hold rate, ROAS, MER, CAC, thumbstop) and translate it into clear creative direction Real leadership experience. You’ve mentored creative strategists, given clear feedback, raised standards, and built accountability inside a team A systems brain. You build repeatable processes for ideation, production, iteration and scaling, instead of relying on random creative experimentation Broader performance ecosystem awareness. You understand how performance creative connects to organic content, broader brand campaigns, landing pages, CRO, offers, funnels. Said simply, the wider acquisition machine. You’ve personally created, led, or directed ads that have scaled significantly. You can point to specific creatives, specific accounts, and specific outcomes. You probably come from a high performing DTC brand, a performance creative agency, or an in-house performance creative team. Above all, you use truth as your north star, leave your ego at the door, and are obsessed with the art and science of ads that actually sell. WHAT YOU’LL OWN Lead the paid social creative department end-to-end Set creative direction for Meta, TikTok and other paid social platforms Define the standards, taste, and quality bar of every ad that leaves the building Be accountable for the commercial performance of our creative output Creative Systems & Process Build a structured testing and iteration system that produces winners with predictability Define and maintain the creative process across ideation, briefing, production, review, and iteration Develop frameworks for hooks, messaging, angles, offers, and ad structures Build a library of proven creative principles, formats, resources and patterns the team can deploy Team Development Train and mentor creative strategists and editors Develop the next generation of performance creatives inside the business Build a strong feedback culture and a high-standards creative learning environment Raise the ceiling of what the team is capable of producing Performance-Driven Creative Direction Identify what’s working, why it’s working, and how to compound it Kill what isn’t working with conviction and clarity Use data to guide direction without losing creative instinct Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with the Head of Marketing & Brand to ensure paid creative reinforces, rather than fragments the brand Work with Creative Strategists and the Production team to ensure tight handoff between strategy and creation Influence landing pages, CRO, offers and funnel design where they materially affect creative performance WHAT YOU BRING 5+ years in performance creative, paid social creative strategy, or a closely related discipline Demonstrable track record of leading or producing ads that scaled significantly (you can show the work and the numbers) Strong DTC and eCommerce background, ideally in brands heavily reliant on Meta and TikTok Experience leading, mentoring or managing creative strategists, editors, or producers Deep fluency in performance metrics and how they map back to creative decisions Experience building repeatable creative systems and testing frameworks Strong creative taste paired with a commercial, direct-response mindset Bonus: experience with Google Ads, CRO, landing page strategy, or full-funnel performance WHAT WE OFFER Highly attractive performance-based bonus structure Direct collaboration with the Founder and Head of Marketing & Brand Full ownership of the performance creative function Access to a fully-built in-house production studio and existing creative team to lead and elevate A multi opportunity career pathway as we scale into a multi-channel, multi-market organisation A role intentionally designed for ambitious high performers who want their work to matter You won’t be a small cog in a big team.
