Enquiries/applications will not be accepted via recruitment agencies About The Opportunity An exciting opportunity exists for a Staff Specialist – Psychiatrist – Menopause - Primary & Community Health – Temporary Part-time to be part of the implementation of statewide networked specialty menopause services for SWSLHD. This is the first and only publicly available multidisciplinary Specialist Menopause Services in SWSLHD targeting severe and/or complex menopause symptom management (including mental health disorders) for women across South West Sydney and three referring Local Health Districts (LHD) of Murrumbidgee, Nepean Blue Mountains and Western NSW. This position sits within SWSLHD Specialty Menopause Hub and uses virtual technologies to deliver a specialist menopause service under SWSLHD Primary & Community health in Campbelltown, NSW. You will be part of a multidisciplinary clinical team that includes Endocrinology, Gynaecology, Haematology, Clinical Psychology, Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Nursing and Admin support. The service is also responsible for delivering Menopause training and education opportunities for clinical care partners including primary care GP providers, other community and NSW health clinicians and the wider general public. What You'll be Doing Engaged psychiatrist with experience or a strong interest in midlife women’s mental health, working collaboratively within multidisciplinary and telehealth models of care. Contributes to the education and training of staff across the four LHDs delivering menopause care services. Where You'll Be Working SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney. These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities. With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live. Qualifications Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialists (State) Award. Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice. Demonstrated experience in providing care to midlife women with menopause related symptoms. Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team. Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.
