$112,847 Base Salary + Super + Generous salary packaging options Full-time 12-month parental leave cover until July 2027 Based in Melbourne An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Nurse to assist with clinical research in the Clinical Electrophysiology Department, based in the Heart Centre at the Alfred Hospital. Reporting to Professor Peter Kistler and working closely with the electrophysiology team, this role will support both investigator‑led and industry‑sponsored electrophysiology research studies. You will manage current and new research projects while ensuring the highest standards of participant care, data integrity and research compliance. How this role makes a difference This role supports vital electrophysiology research that improves the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. By ensuring high‑quality research delivery and participant care, the Arrhythmia Research Nurse helps translate clinical research into better patient outcomes and advances the Baker Institute’s vision to reduce the impact of heart disease. How you’ll make an impact In this role you will be expected to: Screen, recruit and consent participants and support the ongoing informed consent process. Manage and maintain accurate research data and documentation. Ensure compliance with study protocols and regulatory requirements. Undertake health assessments in line with standardised research protocols. Collect, process and store biological samples according to protocol and regulations. Provide health education and risk assessments to research participants. Act as a participant advocate at all times. Support study administration including appointments, correspondence and eHealth support. Contribute to recruitment and promotional activities. Participate in meetings, training and continuous improvement initiatives. What will you bring? Current Division 1 Registered Nurse registration (cardiology or critical care experience preferred). Previous research experience (preferred) with the ability to deliver measurable outcomes. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong organisational and time‑management skills. Competence using MS Office and electronic databases. Understanding of confidentiality, privacy and ethical research standards. Experience with Human Research Ethics Committee or grant applications (desirable). Completion of Good Clinical Research Practice (GCRP) training. So, why join us?
