The Team The Tasmanian Department of Health is seeking dedicated and motivated Registered Nurses to join the Alcohol and Drug Service Community Team. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of experienced clinicians committed to delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based alcohol and other drug treatment services in a supportive, collaborative environment that values professional development, clinical leadership and continuous improvement. The Role As a Registered Nurse within the Alcohol and Drug Service Community Team, you will provide comprehensive, evidence‑based assessment and individual outpatient counselling to people experiencing alcohol and other drug issues. Many clients present with complex needs, including co‑occurring mental health, physical health and psychosocial challenges. Responsibilities Deliver individual counselling and therapeutic interventions to support recovery and wellbeing. Undertake comprehensive AOD assessments and develop person‑centred care plans. Contribute to multidisciplinary care planning and consultation with internal and external stakeholders. Participate in health promotion, education and community awareness activities. Contribute to quality assurance, service development and continuous improvement initiatives. You Will Need Experience providing counselling and therapeutic interventions in an alcohol and other drug setting. Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary, evidence‑based practice in AOD treatment and prevention, including harm minimisation principles. Demonstrated ability to undertake complex AOD assessments and deliver effective interventions. Well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams. Experience or capability to contribute to quality assurance, service improvement and/or research activities. Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times.
