Reporting to the Head of Legal & Compliance, ANZ, you’ll join a small, established in‑house team and take real ownership of a varied ANZ portfolio. This role will suit lawyers with corporate in‑house experience or those transitioning from private practice. The core focus is commercial contracting, with meaningful exposure to employment law, support on M&A activity, and the chance to contribute to compliance and governance in a regulated healthcare environment. You’ll be trusted with meaningful autonomy, with support from an experienced legal leader, in a team that values collaboration, good judgement, and mentoring. What You’ll Be Doing Own end‑to‑end negotiation of complex procurement, supply and service contracts and other commercial arrangements across ANZ, and lead key legal projects (including business‑critical transactions) in partnership with stakeholders and external counsel as needed. Be a trusted adviser on day‑to‑day employment matters, including employment contracts and policies, performance and disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations and grievances. Support M&A activity as needed from time to time, providing practical legal input as matters arise. Help lift capability across the business by driving compliance and governance initiatives and delivering focused legal training. Apply a commercial lens to reviewing marketing/advertising and medical education materials, helping teams move quickly and confidently. Guide teams on WHS matters and proactive issue‑spotting across the business, helping manage risk early. About You You’re commercially minded, collaborative, and comfortable being the person who can “run the matter” while knowing when to elevate. You’ll likely have: Admitted to practice in Australia. Minimum 6+ years legal practice experience, preferably obtained at a top‑tier law firm or in a fast‑paced, corporate legal team. Strong experience drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts (this is a key capability). Hands‑on employment law/IR/ER experience (advising and supporting HR and leaders). Exposure to M&A support, WHS, and advertising/marketing review. Experience in regulated industries (healthcare/medical devices ideal) and/or compliance (highly regarded but not essential).
