Senior Mining Engineer Genesis Minerals is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to provide coordination and technical expertise for the open‑pit mining operations at Leonora, Western Australia. The role is offered on an 8 days on, 6 days off Fly In Fly Out roster from Perth to Leonora. Role Summary Provide technical leadership across all phases of the mining program, from design and scheduling to execution and continuous improvement. Work closely with the Open Pit Manager and support a cross‑functional team to achieve production targets and maintain safe, efficient operations. Key Responsibilities Manage the delivery of short‑ and medium‑term production targets. Oversee the in‑house open‑pit contractor to meet production objectives. Plan, design, review, adjust and optimise mine designs and layouts, including development, drill and blast, and project items. Prepare and issue mine plans, ensuring they align with approved schedules. Establish mine technical services systems, processes and standards, coordinating with geology and surveying. Account for mine infrastructure in all schedules and ensure projects are scoped, specified, procured, resourced and installed according to the mine schedule. Develop Life‑of‑Mine designs and provide realistic design and schedule information. Lead and guide technical personnel; manage resources to support the broader team. Perform other reasonable duties to support smooth mine operation. Preferred Qualifications Australian tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline. Quarry Manager’s Certificate (highly regarded). In‑depth knowledge of statutory safety requirements for mining. Technical expertise in open‑pit mine design, drill and blast, and mine planning. Proficiency with mine scheduling software (Deswik preferred). Operational site‑based mining experience, preferably in gold, with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
