We have been exclusively briefed by a multinational company seeking an experienced senior front‑end construction and projects lawyer keen to play a pivotal role in building and leading the legal and compliance function. The company is a leader in battery development and energy storage. Position Description As a key member of their leadership team, you will provide advice and guidance to the company through the complex legal and regulatory landscape. It is an opportunity that will suit a senior lawyer who is not only technically strong but also adaptable, solutions‑oriented, and eager to contribute beyond the traditional scope of legal work as the company scales. Responsibilities Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including EPC and other construction contracts, supply and distribution contracts, confidentiality agreements and employment contracts. Provide strategic legal advice on a wide range of matters, including statutory interpretation, regulatory obligations, and compliance with Australian laws and industry standards. Advise internal stakeholders on day‑to‑day operational and commercial legal issues across functions, with a strong focus on practical, business‑oriented solutions. Prepare and negotiate contracts that align with commercial and legal risk appetite. Identify legal risks across the business and develop mitigation strategies that support sustainable growth and protect company interests. Requirements The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years’ post admission experience in construction law. Have EPC and energy industry experience. Have demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively across functions in a fast‑moving, agile business. Have strong legal drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with a commercial mindset. Have the ability to provide clear, practical advice.
