About this Opportunity Lead the delivery and performance of visual and public art across the City, positioning creativity as a key driver of place activation, community connection and economic growth. Embedded within the Arts & Experience team, this role works closely with Place, Economic Development and Tourism to deliver integrated, place-based outcomes aligned to the Business Units 5 Pillars approach: Understanding our people and places Empowering community led action Influencing strategy Shaping places that support connection and experience Key Accountabilities Lead the City’s visual and public art programs Oversee Zig Zag Gallery operations and programming Curate diverse and engaging exhibition experiences Lead public art commissioning and delivery projects Manage and steward the City’s public art assets Build strong partnerships across arts and community sectors Collaborate on place activation and creative initiatives Contribute to tourism and creative economy outcomes Drive projects that increase participation and visitation Manage gallery, public art and program budgets Identify grants, partnerships and funding opportunities Monitor program performance, outcomes and community impact Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualification (Visual Arts, Fine Arts, Arts Education or a related discipline) Curatorship, business performance or similar experience Demonstrated experience in Gallery Management Demonstrated experience in Exhibition curation Demonstrated experience in Public art delivery and commissioning Strong understanding of visual arts and creative placemaking As satisfactory National Police Certificate Applicants must have the right to work in Australia. Selection Criteria Demonstrated experience delivering arts and/or public art programs Demonstrated financial acumen to support effective decision making Strong project and contract management skills Experience working across multiple stakeholders and sectors Ability to influence outcomes across teams (not just deliver within one) Strategic thinking with strong delivery capability Hours of Work This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight. About the Benefits This position offers a salary of Level 7 $102,391.49 to $108,637.34 per annum, (depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant) plus 12% superannuation.
