See attached Service description for each speciality** The Registered Midwife supports excellence in midwifery care and patient outcomes. The Registered Midwife is a clinician who provides direct midwifery care with clinical competence and capability, optimising the perinatal journey of women and their families and enabling woman centred care with enhanced access to services. The Registered Midwife working in the birth suite, the maternity/gynaecology ward, or rotating between both areas provides contemporary, evidence‑based midwifery services and demonstrates competence in the provision of midwifery care as specified by achievement of the standards of practice and registration requirements from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). This is evidenced by educational preparation, continuing professional development, adherence to relevant legislation and the context of care. About You Contemporary clinical knowledge in the areas of antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal midwifery practice delivering competent midwifery care in complex situations while providing support to other team members. Provide patient and family centred care to patients using best practice and within the standard of practice of a Registered Midwife. Communicate to a high standard effectively and engage with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors whilst displaying a high level of professional midwifery care. Educate, inform, counsel and support patients and families on general and clinical information relevant to patient's care, accessing the Clinical Midwife when expert advice is required. Comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate midwifery care. Build and maintain strong relationships, open communication and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard.
