Beacon Legal has partnered with a leading global infrastructure and renewable energy investment manager in the search for a Legal Counsel to join the Melbourne office. This opportunity would suit a lawyer with 3-6 years’ experience who is looking to step into a broad and commercially significant role. We’re seeking a commercially minded and proactive construction and infrastructure lawyer to join a high-performing legal team. This role offers exposure to renewable energy development, project finance and operational infrastructure matters, with the opportunity to work closely with a business operating at the forefront of the energy transition. The legal team is highly collaborative, commercially focused and closely embedded within the business. About the Role Lead, negotiate and review a broad range of energy and infrastructure agreements across renewable energy generation and storage projects. Advise on project development matters including land access arrangements, EPC and O&M agreements, grid connection documentation and power purchase agreements. Support the delivery and operation of large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure assets across the full project lifecycle. Assist with project financing and refinancing arrangements, including coordination with lenders and external advisers. Provide strategic legal advice on regulatory and compliance matters impacting the energy and infrastructure sector. Support asset management teams on operational issues, contractor disputes and commercial arrangements for operating assets. Work closely with development, investment, finance and asset management stakeholders across the business. Manage external counsel and contribute to governance, corporate structuring and board-related matters. What we’re looking for Admitted to practise in Australia. 3-6 years’ experience in construction, infrastructure or energy, gained in private practice or in‑house. Exposure to renewable energy, project development, project finance and/or infrastructure matters will be highly regarded. Strong technical, commercial and stakeholder management skills. A proactive, adaptable and collaborative approach. Excellent communication, drafting and problem‑solving ability. Comfortable working in a fast‑paced and evolving environment.
