We are seeking an enthusiastic Information Technology professional ready for a hands‑on technical role with a comprehensive scope including public cloud, private hypervisors, databases, identity, endpoint security, and the networks that tie it all together. You will be a senior voice in a small, capable team, with the autonomy to shape standards and the mandate to modernise. The position involves deploying and supporting technologies to support public facing services for our clients, as well as internal infrastructure that services DCA employees. Key Responsibilities Owning the day-to-day operation, performance, and security posture of the Windows, Linux, virtualisation, and cloud estate. Optimising Azure infrastructure and identity (Entra ID). Administering private cloud hypervisors and the storage, compute, and networking that sit underneath. Keeping SQL Server and Oracle database platforms healthy, backed up, patched, and performing under load. Operating the M365 tenant including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Purview to a high standard. Working closely with security to deliver best practice operational security controls, respond to alerts, and harden the environment. Driving automation, monitoring, and documentation. Desired Skills and Experience You are an experienced systems administrator who has earned your seniority. You are equally comfortable in a PowerShell session, an Azure portal, a vCenter or Hyper‑V console, and a SQL query window. You hold strong opinions about how production environments should be run, but you hold them loosely enough to keep learning. You communicate clearly with engineers, with security, and with the business. You document as you go. You are the person other engineers are escalated to, and you handle that responsibility calmly. Most of the role will be performed in our new head office in Melbourne, however a driver’s license will be beneficial.
