This position is designed to complement the existing Data Steward Community. While the community can provide subject matter expertise and advisory support, the Data Steward Partner is accountable for hands-on execution. This role ensures that all data created or consumed by initiatives is catalogued, classified, contextualised, and meets agreed quality standards and Trusted Data Principles. Operating as an integral member of the project / programme team, the Data Steward Partner works closely with Data Architects and Data Modellers, driving delivery while maintaining a strong focus on stakeholder engagement. This is a practical, delivery-oriented role that bridges governance principles with operational execution. In addition, the role will actively participate in and be supported by the Data Governance Data Steward Partner Community of Practice, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement across projects. Key Responsibilities 1. Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation Act as the primary liaison between project teams and Data Stewards / Owners. Work with Data Stewards to validate the work they have undertaken to create: business terms , definitions , and rules . Define data quality measures and remediation options. Ensure decisions and agreements are documented. Build strong relationships with stewards to enable smooth handover to BAU. 2. Data Management Execution Classify data according to organisational Data Classification Guide in Collibra Document business definitional and contextualise data by linking business terms, rules, and metrics to assets in Collibra Assign data and reports to appropriate domains and subdomains in Collibra 3. Data Quality Management If required may: Perform data profiling to assess structure, completeness, and anomalies. Define and implement data quality rules for project use cases and ongoing monitoring into Collibra. Log data quality issues in the central backlog and engage stewards for remediation or risk acceptance. Document impact of data quality issues and recommend cleansing or controls. Support handover of data quality rules and recommendations for BAU management. 4. Compliance & Continuous Improvement Raise to the Data Steward any identified areas of non-compliance to organisation policies. Maintain awareness of governance processes and resources via SharePoint and training hubs. Identify opportunities to improve governance execution and data quality practices.
