About the role: The Team Leader leads a team of compliance and operations staff, ensuring the effective delivery of regulatory functions in relation to non‑emergency patient transport and first aid services in line with the Non‑Emergency Patient Transport and First Aid Services Act 2003. The role involves planning, supporting, coordinating and administering the team’s regulatory functions, monitoring compliance, and providing advice to senior executives and the Minister for Health on regulatory issues. It may also require working across other regulatory areas within the health regulator as needed. Responsibilities Supervise and provide leadership to a team of employees, supporting individuals to achieve their potential and contribute to organisational goals. Model behaviours integral to good people management and departmental values. Manage and monitor specific improvement objectives in annual improvement plans where relevant. Build and maintain positive relationships with peers and stakeholders across the organisation. Coordinate and conduct desktop and onsite assessments of regulated entities, preparing reports, advice, and correspondence as required and taking essential regulatory action when non‑compliance is identified. Qualifications / Specialist Expertise Tertiary qualification in paramedicine or equivalent. Current Victorian driver's licence. Certificate IV in Government Investigations highly regarded. Experience in the health service sector, hospital environment or in a clinical/science environment advantageous. Experience in regulatory or public policy work and knowledge of relevant government legislation. Additional Requirements Work may include periods of out‑of‑business hours work, including weeknights, weekends, and travel to regional and remote areas.
