The role We are seeking a highly experienced Senior People & Culture Business Partner to provide end‑to‑end HR leadership across a growing, project‑based workforce. This senior, autonomous role is based in Rockingham, supporting leaders across operations, mobilisation and corporate functions. You will be the primary People & Culture contact for the business day‑to‑day, providing expert guidance on complex employee relations matters, Fair Work compliance, and WHS‑aligned people practices. This role requires a confident, capable HR professional who can operate independently, exercise sound judgement, and partner closely with leaders to drive safe, consistent and compliant outcomes. Key responsibilities Lead the management of complex ER matters including performance, conduct, grievances and investigations Provide authoritative advice on the Fair Work Act, NES, Awards, contracts and compliance obligations Coach and support leaders to build capability and confidence in people management Oversee key HR processes including probation, performance reviews and development planning Partner with HSEQT on psychosocial safety, fatigue management and WHS‑aligned people systems Support organisational change, workforce planning and role design Lead or contribute to HR projects including policy development, system improvements and leadership capability programs Build strong, trusted relationships across multiple sites and stakeholder groups Travel to site when required to support leaders, conduct investigations, deliver training or engage with employees Operate with a high level of autonomy, supported by a part‑time HR Manager About you Significant HRBP or Senior HR Advisor experience in mining, construction, resources or similar environments Deep understanding of the Fair Work Act, NES, Awards and compliance frameworks Ability to interpret legislation and apply it practically in a fast‑paced operational environment Confidence coaching leaders and influencing outcomes with professionalism and clarity Strong understanding of WHS‑aligned people practices, including psychosocial safety Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset and comfort working with limited supervision Local availability — candidates based in Rockingham or surrounding areas are strongly encouraged to apply Why join Buru?
