The Company Paragon Talent Solutions is supporting a global provider of electrical and industrial automation solutions. An opportunity has now become available for a Senior Control Systems Engineer to join their Sydney-based team. This is an initial 12-month contract with strong potential for extension or permanent employment. The successful candidate will support projects within the utilities sector and join a business known for its strong culture, collaborative environment and solid project pipeline. The Position As a Senior Control Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of automation and control systems projects from concept through to commissioning. Your responsibilities will include: Delivering control systems projects across the full project lifecycle Working closely with clients to understand operational and project requirements Managing project schedules, priorities and engineering deliverables Coordinating internal engineering and commissioning resources Collaborating with engineering teams to develop high‑quality automation solutions Leading and mentoring junior and intermediate engineers where required Supporting project planning, budgeting and resource allocation activities Managing stakeholder relationships across clients, contractors and internal teams Supporting testing, commissioning and on‑site activities when required Identifying and managing project risks and technical challenges Ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget This opportunity would suit a Senior Control Systems Engineer who enjoys both the technical and project delivery aspects of automation projects and is comfortable managing multiple stakeholders across a range of projects. Your Experience To be considered for this position, you will possess: A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, Computer Science or similar Strong experience delivering industrial automation and control systems projects Solid understanding of the complete control systems project lifecycle Experience coordinating engineering activities and project resources Knowledge of PLC, SCADA and HMI systems within industrial environments Experience with Schneider, Siemens, Rockwell or similar technologies Strong stakeholder management and communication skills The ability to lead teams and manage competing project priorities Previous experience within the utilities sector would be highly regarded What’s On Offer Initial 12-month contract with strong potential for extension or permanent employment Hybrid working across home, office and client sites Exposure to utilities sector projects Supportive engineering and project delivery environment Competitive hourly rate dependent on experience Opportunity to work with a global automation organisation Interviews are taking place immediately.
